Meet Jennifer McLucas

Jenna About 2

Well hello You!

I’m Jennifer and I’m so glad you made it! It’s really been a day, hasn’t it? These people to love and so many things to do and somehow I’m supposed to make it meaningful and fun for everyone and most days I’d give anything to just have 5 minutes of quiet instead of hearing my harsh voice shouting over all the noise. It feels messy, this life between Once Upon A Time and the promised Heavenly Happily Ever After. Some days it’s really messy.

I’m here, with you and for you. I know you want to give those people you love the very best of yourself. I know you want to do those things that God has prepared for you to do (Ephesians 2:10) with everything that you are. I see your heart. I love your heart.

We really can do this together- this crazy, messy life between.

How? Well that’s the fun part!

First, you can subscribe to my newsletter. Every time I share some bit of encouragement or part of my story it will land quietly in your inbox. Once you’ve read it you can respond easily by clicking reply, just like a regular email. I read and respond to every email I receive because, the truth is, I need you too!

We can also connect on Facebook, my favorite time sucking place where I lose far too many hours every day. You too? Perfect! While we’re at it, I spend too much time on Pinterest and Instagram too. Let’s spend the whole afternoon together looking at amazing stuff that we’re never really going to create… It’s OK, it’s the thought that counts, right!?!

Maybe you’re desperate for a word of encouragement right where you are today. I get that. Here are some of the posts I’ve written that friends have found most encouraging. Take your time.

The post in which I admit I’m a control freak and share the need for true Surrender.
The post where I encourage you (and me too) to find True Rest at the real source.
The post for the days when Here isn’t where you thought you’d be.
The post for those times when you don’t know How To Really Be Enough.
The post for when your To-Do list is out of control.
I’m not a mommy blogger, I’m a faith blogger for the mom.

Family About 2bFamily About

I’ve been married for 16 years. Nate and I married young in 1998. Although Nate has always supported our family through work in the construction industry he’s a minister at heart. He has spent years studying and memorizing scripture, the works of CS Lewis, and those of other notable Christian apologists. He is strong, brilliant, warm, and steady. Everything I know about the heart of God I learned from him.
I have 5 children. I adore my two daughters and three sons. Our family has grown through careful family planning, then adoption, and then taken us by surprise. My children have taught me I need to depend more on God’s understanding and shown me how much I’m truly in need of grace.
I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and I’ve never left. I love the Pacific Northwest. It’s breathtakingly beautiful, it’s the home of Starbucks, and it rains a lot. I can’t think of anyplace I’d rather call home.
I read a lot of books. Then I write about them. You can find all my favorite books and thoughts about them at My Bookshelf. I also sometimes work with other writers and authors. You can find out more about my services here.
